Bromide Investigation

In its June 17, 1999 article discussing Great Lakes Chemical’s cooperation with the Justice Department investigation, Verdict warned that two other companies faced serious legal risk. Dead Sea Bromide, an Israeli company pled guilty and paid a $7 million criminal fine on July 27, 2000. Verdict believes Albermarle remains under investigation. Since Albermarle’s stock rose from the mid teens in March to the mid 20’s recently, this stock may be a good short.
